Sadness

I am feeling very sad today. I don't understand how we American's can be so blind. This is a bad thing for America and for anyone who isn't a conservative, who believes in individual rights and the freedom to think and say and feel what they want. Fear and tunnel vision won this election and I am really afraid of what the future holds.

Feeling pretty bummed over here too. There are so many things we needed to accomplish over the next 4 years, things that should have been done this past 4 years. Still, I am very proud of all the folks that actually got out and voted, what a tremendous success this election turned out to be from a "let's get involved" standpoint.

Oh freakin' puhlease, cry me a river why don't you?

I can understand your sadness, your side lost and that hurts, but to then go on and imply that your side lost because people are stupid is the height of hubristic stupidity. Your side lost not because Americans are blind, not because Americans don't care about individual rights or freedoms (quite the opposite, the last thing liberals like Kerry have ever cared about is either), your side lost because a substantial majority of Americans disagreed with liberal positions. That they disagree with you does not make them stupid, unless liberals start figuring that out very quickly they are going to find themselves marginalized into irrelevancy -- they're very nearly there as things stand.

To that last anonymous poster - 1. I never said anyone was stupid - I said blind - unless you are equating blindness with stupidity? 2. I realize that Kerry lost because a small majority of Americans are afraid of libral ideas and libral thought - again that does not make them stupid - just blind to what is really going on outside of their narrow view of the world.

I would suggest you look up the definitions of blindness and stupidity - then figure out where you fall.

I am sorry - I was a little annoyed while typing that last comment and I am a lousy typist at the best of times - it should be liberal not libral!

I thought you might like to know that the Zara yarn is coming up for sale at the Elann website. If I'm remembering correctly you can find it under the section "sneak peak". I'm not positive it's the same yarn called for in the IK sweater you mentioned but it's worth a look.

Quite frankly, both candidates scare(d) the crap outta me. In my mind, it was pick your poison. But I'm not really into politics. Ahem. But I bet you Hillary Clinton is jumping for joy.
